Perry the sheep

Perry the sheep

Perry was born in the spring of 2016. Someone had seen a farmer throw something over a wall and walk away. She returned later to check and found a small white lamb, just a few days old, lying in the wet grass in the rain. She took him home, got him warm, to and he couldn't stand.

She took him to a Vet whose prognosis wasn't good, being thrown over a wall had obviously caused damage either to his spine or internally.

He was given treatment and good luck wishes from the Vet, and taken home to be nursed round the clock by his Good Samaritan. Perry learnt to take a bottle, he rested in a warm, safe place, gradually learning to sit up, then stand, until he was propelling himself around on his strong back legs.

His career needed to get back to work, we were contacted and asked if we could and a space for him where his progress could continue. Jan looked after him round the clock bottle feeding him and nursing him with antibiotics and vitamins.

He was joined by Kevin, another rescued lamb whose boisterous play encouraged Perry to join in with lamb high jinks. He made a full recovery, he's a strong, friendly boy, partial to Rich Tea biscuits.
