Perry

Perry was born in the spring of 2016. Someone had witnessed a farmer tossing something over a wall and walking away. When the person returned later to investigate, they discovered a tiny white lamb, just a few days old, lying in the damp grass in the rain.

They took him home, warmed him up, but found he couldn’t stand. A vet’s prognosis was grim; the act of being thrown over the wall had clearly caused either spinal or internal damage. Despite this, the vet provided treatment and offered good luck wishes. Perry was then taken home to be cared for around the clock by his Good Samaritan.

Perry learned to bottle-feed, resting in a warm, safe environment. Gradually, he learned to sit up, then stand, and eventually began moving around on his strong back legs. As he progressed, we were contacted to see if we could provide a space for him to continue his recovery.

Jan devotedly looked after him, bottle-feeding him and administering antibiotics and vitamins. Perry was later joined by Kevin, another rescued lamb, whose energetic play encouraged Perry to engage in lively lamb antics. Perry made a full recovery and is now a robust, friendly boy with a fondness for Rich Tea biscuits.
