August 2025:
Fresh Apple Treats & Festival Fun at The Farm Animal Sanctuary

From sweet apple pulp for our happy cows and sheep to the uplifting energy of Freedom Fields Festival 2025, it’s been a week of joy, community and gratitude at the sanctuary.

🍏 A Juicy Treat for the Herd

The cows and sheep at The Farm Animal Sanctuary were in for a special treat this week – fresh apple pulp, delivered straight from the press!

As the sweet scent of apples filled the air, our residents wasted no time tucking in. Every mouthful was savoured, and it was wonderful to see them enjoying such a natural and tasty snack together in the fields.

Moments like these are only possible thanks to the kindness and generosity of our supporters.

Your donations and help mean our animals not only have the best care but also these little bursts of joy that brighten their days. From all of us – and especially the cows and sheep – thank you.

🎶 Freedom Fields Festival 2025 – What a Weekend!

What an incredible few days we’ve just had at Freedom Fields Festival 2025! The atmosphere was electric from start to finish, filled with music, laughter, compassion, and community.

We’d like to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this weekend so special. From the moment the gates opened, the support and kindness you showed created something truly unforgettable.

A special shoutout goes to Sparkle Vegan Events and Vegan Queen V, whose passion and dedication made this fantastic festival possible. We’re also deeply grateful to the performers, traders, speakers, volunteers, and of course our amazing sanctuary team – who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly.

This festival wasn’t just about fun – it was about raising vital funds and awareness for the animals in our care. Thanks to your support, we can continue to give them the safe, loving lives they deserve.

The uplifting vibes have left us inspired, and we’re already looking ahead to next year. Save the date: 24th – 26th July 2026, when we’ll be back, bigger and better, with even more to enjoy and celebrate together.

Nineteen Pigs Rescued

Earlier this summer, we answered an urgent call to save 19 pigs whose lives were at risk. They had been living in cramped, harsh conditions and desperately needed a safe place to go.

Rosita and her ten piglets arrived first, quickly finding joy and freedom in their new surroundings. Then came Bruno, the gentle giant boar, along with two older females who now spend their days happily wallowing. Finally, five big girls joined us, including Truffles, who is blind but thriving, and Penelope, a sweet soul needing extra care for her joints.

Taking in such a large group pushed us to our limits, but today these pigs have space to roam, soft beds, and the chance of a life they never had before. This is why The Farm exists – to give animals hope when there seems to be none.
