NEWS - October 2012

Thanks to Emily Cremins

...for helping to choose the names for our three new ducks. They have now been christened Steve, Kevin and Jemima.

Sad Goodbyes

For Bryony who came to us from Blackburn with her sister, Blackberry, several years ago. They both lived contentedly together eventually sharing their accommodation with two rescued Ark Angel Pigeons. The Pigeons died some time back and this year the sisters were joined by a rescued wild pigeon, Penny. Penny cannot be returned to her natural environment as she cannot fly but she has settled happily in her new home and has now become Blackberry’s companion. They sit together. Thank you Bryony for coming to us and be assured that your sister seems contented with her new companion. Hope there are lots of dandelions where you are now we know you love them..

For Mark who was an unwanted pet once he got past the cute fluffy stage and fortunately found his way to us and not to a pot. He was a companion for Muscy for five years and he died suddenly we think of a heart attack. He spent his time with Muscy visiting the sheep and Hosanna the donkey, parading with the hens and enjoying his bath. He was a familiar and frequent figure around the yard. We are sad you could not have stayed longer Mark wherever you are enjoy your baths, thank you for coming.

The Latest News and Pictures of Brave George

What a contented and confident small chap he has become. Mind you his friends are small they all came from the same farm so we wonder if something genetic is involved in their poor growth rate. Well, what they lack in stature they certainly make up for in personality. George is a very happy lamb and just loves everything and everyone, the time he spends grazing in the field with his friends and some of our middle aged sheep, the time he spends snug in the barn at night, his bottles now down to two a day and the hay rack where he likes to sleep. His back legs seem normal, his front ones are definitely shorter than they should be but have remained almost straight and he has not needed any support on them for the last two months so fingers crossed this is it and his legs will not deteriorate back to what they were. He sends his thanks for all your messages and for your love and has asked us to tell you, his fans, that he intends to be with us for a very long time to come, we hope he will be too.
